Should a nurse recieve emergency laboratory results for a client with chest pains and an increased myoglobin level this would suggest that the patient has myocardial damage and the physician should be immediately informed. Myocardial is pertaining to the muscle tissue of the heart. When this muscular tissue gets infected the result is that the tissue around the heart dies.
The condition that usually follows is commonly known as a heart attack. Becuase myocardia recieve the largest amount of thier blood supply from the two large coronary arteries in the heart the occlusion of these arteries is usually the cause of mydocardial damage.
