The correct answer is option B - Drink at least eight 8-oz glasses of fluid daily
Co-trimoxazole, popularly known as Bactrim, is a combination of 2 antibiotics - sulphamethoxazole and trimethoprim. It is used to treat many bacterial infections.

A person on Co-trimoxazole should take plenty of water daily to prevent the likelihood of developing kidney stones. This will help improve urine output, which in turn will increase the rate of excretion of the drug.

It is best to take co-trimoxazole with food, but it can be taken on an empty stomach. The antacid is not known to interfere with the absorption of co-trimoxazole. Avoiding it when on co-trimoxazole therapy would not change anything.

Co-trimoxazole can cause you to be more sensitive to the sun. The patient should be advised not to start long in the sun.

Co-Trimoxazole, also known as Septra or Bactrim, is used to treat certain bacterial infections, such as urinary tract infections. The patient should drink at least 8ounce, eight-ounce glasses of water every day.

The patient should also avoid contact with direct sunlight during this treatment. It is essential to complete the full prescription of antibiotics prescribed by the doctor. It is imperative to avoid such complications such as scarring of the urethra, strictures, and destruction of kidney parenchyma. Co-trimoxazole is the most common oral antibiotic prescribed for UTI’s.

When receiving a sulfonamide such as co-trimoxazole. the client should drink at least eight 8-oz glasses of fluid daily to maintain a urine output of at least 1.500 ml/day. Otherwise. inadequate urine output may lead to crystalluria or tubular deposits.Option A: For maximum absorption. the client should take this drug at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.Option C: No evidence indicates that antacids interfere with the effects of sulfonamides.Option D: To prevent a photosensitivity reaction. the client should avoid direct sunlight during co-trimoxazole therapy.
