Generally, 12 oz. Beer, a 1 oz. Shot of hard liquor and 4 oz. of wine has about the same amount of alcohol. Not all wines have the similar alcohol content in them. White wines have less alcohol, while red wine contains more alcohol. Also, there are so many kinds of distilled spirits or hard liquors on the market, such as gin, bourbon, whiskey, vodka, and tequila. A serving is about 1 ounce, which is the size of a shot glass.

12 oz beer has 0.6 oz of alcohol per serving
1 oz of 80 proof liquor is 0.54 alcohol
4 oz of wine is 0.54 alcohol

The alcohol content is usually compared by 12 oz of beer, 5 oz of wine, and 1.5 oz of 80 proof liquor. Each of these drinks in these quantities contains approximately 0.6 alcohol per serving.

Comparing the amount of alcohol that 12oz beer, 1 ounce of 80 proof liquor, and 4oz wine, one will find that they have the same amount of alcohol. This type of question would be found on a driving test, which would be taken to obtain a driver's license or a permit.

It is important to know this information if you wish to start driving and get a license. Everyone should refrain from drinking and driving, but if you happen to be out and about and drinking while you are out, you should know the amount of alcohol that would be in your drink of choice.

All of the drinks listed contain the same amount of pure alcohol. It is important to know this before leaving the house and drinking and driving. Though it is recommended to not drink and drive at all, some people may go to brunch or dinner and choose to have a drink.

It is important to known the legal limits so that you will not put yourself in a predicament where you are driving and are above the alcohol limit. If you find that you are above these limits, you should try to get a driver to take you home or wait until your system clears to drive again.
