FACE. This format is used to help new learners understand music notes. FACE is found on the treble cleft, which is the top staff in sheet music. Starting at the bottom, the first space is labeled F, the second is labeled A, the third space is labeled C, and the fourth space is labeled E.
The lines also have labels, which are EGDBF. To remember this, student's are taught the saying Every Good Boy Does Fine. E starts at the bottom line, and the saying goes all the way up to the top line of the staff.
