A nurse should monitor prolonged reperfusion of the toes after blanching. The tibia is one of the two bones that make up the lower leg, and the other would be the fibula. The tibia is the largest of these two bones. The top of the tibia connects to the knee joint, and the bottom of the tibia connects to the ankle joint.

Reperfusion connects to the ankle joint. Reperfusion is restored to the tissue after a period of ischemia. It is the restoration of blood supply to ischemic tissues can cause additional damage known as reperfusion injury resulting from prolonged pressure and force at the bone.

Prolonged reperfusion of the toes after blanching

Damage to blood vessels may decrease the circulatory perfusion of the toes, this would indicate the lack of blood supply to the extremity.
