Many people rely on another being to guide them through their lives. Some people will believe in a god to help them through their lives. However, Native Americans would pray and worship to animals. They believed that each animal had a purpose. They would pray to each animal for a different reason. Now, these animals are called spirit animals. There are several names for these animals. Some of them include totem animal and spirit guide. This animal is believed to be helpful to the person. They will guide them through their challenged in their lives.

Sometimes, a person will have more than one spirit animal. Each animal has a specific purpose which is why the person relies upon it. Owls are known for being wise. So, people who need wisdom may have an owl as a spirit animal.
