True-yes, you can use both single-mode and multi-mode fiber within the same system. the velocitykvm-24 systems are available to work with single-mode fiber or multi-mode fiber and these can be mixed within the same network. most other providers do not support this. another advantage thinklogical offers when it comes to the fiber cables themselves is there is no requirement for matching lengths of fiber going to and from a piece of equipment. for example, if two fibers are connected to a velocitykvm-24 receiver, one could be 40 meters in length and one could be 10 meters in length.
