What was the original budget of the Federal Arts Project?

The original budget, as far as internet research can show, was never released to the public. However, it had to have been at least $2.5 million. Many, many artists were supplied via this project. The Federal Art Project supported artists such as Monty Lewis, Mark Toby, Selma Burke, and Daisy Maud Bells. Over 10,000 artists were supported. They were commissioned to work on these projects and were paid a small sum every week - around $24. Considering that the project went on for eight years, it adds up considerably quickly.

The Federal Art Project was introduced as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s attempt to fund the visual arts in the United States of America. The bill was introduced as part of the New Deal.
