To create her picture, Dotty used crayons, markers, and a giant piece of paper. This piece of paper was most likely a piece of poster paper instead of printer paper or tracing paper. However, the crayons and the markers are probably the most important supplies out of the list. These are the things she used to create the dots that made up the pictures. Using different kinds of markers would give her a fatter or thinner tip, and thereby a bigger or smaller dot. Crayons can be used to create small, barely there dots or large, colored in dots depending on the technique used.
This technique is inspired by a real artist, Georges Seurat. He’s a French artist that used tiny dots of paint to create his pictures, giving him the ability to create deeper shadows and hues and tones that weren’t seen in paint those days.
