What happened to Tab Hunter's older brother Walter?

Tab Hunter was an actor, singer, film producer, and author. He was a significant heartthrob of the 1950's and 1960’s. Hunter had one older brother named Walter. He was a mutual funds salesman. He joined the navy, and he served in the Vietnam War.

He was killed in Nam in 1965. He had volunteered for a dangerous assignment to earn extra money for his family. He was married with seven children. After his brother's death, Tab Hunter felt a responsibility to work hard so that he could help provide for Walter's wife and children after his brother's death.
