Food science professionals study the engineering of food as it relates to how it’s made, distributed and packaged. This also involves the role of management. Agricultural managers oversee establishments that produce crops and livestock for the market.
In this role, you manage the entire production process; keep practices in line with federal and state regulations; oversee and maintain equipment; and arrange for the sale of the crops and livestock. Work takes place in the office and in the field. While many agricultural managers earn a bachelor’s degree, many managers move into the position with only a high school diploma and loads of on-the-job training.
