The sentence begins with a preposition, has a comma so I it works as a trap to think it is complex.

However, since 'since' is a synonym for because and as ( FANBOYS), it can be compound.

Both the parts seem independent so it should be compund.

The answer should be complex because there are both subordinate and main clauses in the sentence.
