The Bible points out that the departed ones can look down upon us from heaven. According to Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us xxx”.
Also, in Luke 16:28, the rich man begged Abraham to send down Lazarus to his father’s house “for I have five brothers – so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.” These two examples do not specifically state that they can look down from heaven, but there are several hints that they could really do such thing.
