If you’re not looking to spend a ton of money on polishing silver jewelry, you can easily remove heavy tarnish stains at home with a simple recipe of white vinegar and baking soda. This mixture is amazing since it works on your jewelry without getting too heavy on the jewelry you’re trying to clean. The best recipe is a half-cup of vinegar with two tablespoons or so of baking soda. Be warned, though: it will fizz up and bubble a lot. You simply leave your heavily tarnished jewelry in the mixture for two to three hours.
The fizzing will continue until you take the jewelry out of the mixture, or just about that time at least. Once you take the jewelry out of the mixture, rinse it off gently and then dry it with a paper towel or a fluffy towel. Be careful that it won’t snag.
