It actually seems that multiplying and dividing fractions seems easier and quicker than adding and subtracting fractions. First, look at the bottom number of the fraction. This number is called the denominator. You must find a common denominator between the two numbers. For example, if the denominators is 5 and 10, then the common denominator is 10 because both 5 and 10 can equally be divided into 10 without having a remainder.
Then you need to adjust the numerator. See how many times the original denominator goes into the current denominator. In this example, five goes into ten two times. Then you multiply that number to the numerator above it. You may need to do this for each fraction. Then subtract the numerators and place it over the denominator.
