There are actually five people who helped to write Rihanna’s hit song “Where Have You Been”. They are Calvin Harris, Dr. Luke, Ester Dean, Cirkut, and Geoff Mack. They make up a composing teamand form a strong team. Geoff Mack passed away on July 21, 2017, but the rest of the team is alive and well. They typically worked together on electronic pop songs, but they have written for more than just Rihanna.
Since artists only release an album once a year or so, they have to work with multiple artists to keep an income flowing. This can be difficult if someone did a bad job singing a song and gave the song a bad name. If the composer names get out, it can affect their career for the worse.
