In theory nothing can travel faster than light. In a vacuum light can travel 186,282 miles per second which is equal to 299,792 kilometers per second. If it were possible for humans to travel at the speed of light they could travel all the way around the Earth 7.5 times in one second.

In the early days scientist thought that light must travel instantly but thanks to the progression of science and emergence of some scientists including Albert Einstein the speed at which light travels has been narrowed down to a more exact science.
