Cooking lentils can be a pretty easy undertaking for a quick, tasty and healthy meal. Lentils are a small round Legume that comes in all sorts of colors including red, brown, green and black. To prepare them you need to cook them on the stovetop. Every cup of dry lentils should be cooked in 3 cups of water or a broth such as chicken or beef stock.
Be aware that the lentils will double or even triple in size. Bring them to a boil, cover, and simmer for a while until they are tender enough. The entire cooking process takes only about 15 to 20 minutes.
