RMS Titanic sank on April 15, 1912 during its maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York. It was launched on May 31, 1911 and was completed by April 02, 1912. The RMS Titanic hit an iceberg about 11:40 in the evening on April 14, 1912, and it sank after 2 hours and 40 minutes. There were an estimated 2,224 total passengers and crew aboard the ship when it hit the iceberg, with reported casualties of more than 1,500 people.
The sinking of the RMS Titanic was considered as one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in modern history. The sinking of the RMS Titanic was adapted into a film entitled Save from the Titanic which was released 29 days after the ship’s wreckage and had an actual survivor as its main lead. In 1958, a movie entitled A Night to Remember was released, but the successful movie depicting the RMS Titanic was the 1997 movie entitled Titanic.
