A synonym refers to a phrase or word that means the same as another phrase or word. Words are called synonymous when they mean the same. There are too many examples of synonyms in our language and some examples of synonyms are as follows:

Beautiful and attractive, fair and impartial, funny and comical, happy and joyful, honest and honorable, intelligent and bright, kind and thoughtful, lazy and idle, outgoing and sociable, rich and affluent, strong and stable, unhappy and depressed, lucky and fortunate, positive and optimistic, bossy and controlling, pacify and appease, turbulent and violent, valid and legitimate, old and ancient, true and genuine, important and substantial, weak and frail, nice and agreeable, huge and enormous, and brave and courageous.
