Kobe Bryant turned 39 last August. Born Kobe Bean Bryant on August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he began his career in the NBA as the 13th draft pick by the Charlotte Hornets sometime in 1996. He was then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers shortly afterwards where he spent his entire NBA career.
Throughout his NBA career, he became theNBA Slam Dunk Contest champion and NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 1997, NBA Most Valuable Player in 2008, the NBA Finals MVP on 2009 and 2010, and the NBA All-Star Game MVP in 2002, 2007, 2009 and 2011. His position in the Los Angeles Lakers is the shooting guard and he played from 1996 up until he finally retired in 2016.
