Kept in separate, labelled containers and collected.

So many different reagents are used in labs for wine analysis, it is easy to throw them away into landfill or pour them down the drain. This however is not only illegal but can cause environmental problems if they reach the a water course. Some reagents can be an irritant or flammable and can be dangerous if not stored and disposed of correctly. The best practise would be to have a chemical store in which all spent chemicals can be stored in labelled separate containers and can be removed by local, licensed collectors. See www.wastedirectory.org.uk for local collection services.
