Born Selena Marie Gomez on July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas, she began her carrier as one of the children in Barney and Friends wherein she played Gianna from Seasons 7 and 8. It was only in 2007 when she rose to fame by starring as the lead role in Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place which ran from October 12, 2007 to January 06, 2012. She formed a band called Selena Gomez & the Scene in 2008 but the group disbanded in 2012 when she began to focus more on her solo career. As a solo musician, she released several songs such as Come & Get It, Kill Em With Kindness, Hands to Myself, and Same Old Love.
