I have seen quality results from handmade tools. I can drill a decent hole with a old hand drill, that may not appear to be the same quality as a $250 electric drill. Although I do believe that tools should always be kept in good condition, sharp, clean, lubricated and stored properly to avoid damage. The quality of a tool does not necessarily mean the work performed with it will necessarily be of poor quality. Quality would be better based upon materials used and the expertise of the user.
