Elizabeth Berg wrote the 1994 book “Talk Before Sleep”. The book is about a boy and a girl who meet, and it is a change of pace from the usual chick-lit novels. It’s not an instant wish to be friends with this girl. No, it’s hate at first sight. Kind of like “Wicked”. However, the two girls are thrown together time and again, as the plot continues on through the book. Soon, they do end up becoming friends. And, as with many chick-lit books, the two become friends and share hankies during a soap opera.
The book is popular enough; it has a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 stars on Amazon. It isn’t among the top hundred best-sellers in the genre, but it’s up there.
