“The Power of Positive Thinking” was written by Norman Vincent Peale. Peale was born in 1898, and died in 1993 - at almost 100 years old. His work at the church included attending the wedding of Ivanka and then would-be President Trump. He was good friends with President Richard Nixon, whom went to his church while growing up - as did Trump and his first wife.
He was a pastor at the Marble Collegiate Church in New York City, so it’s no wonder that so many powerful New York City people have attended his church. During the Watergate Scandal, he continued to offer friendship and support to Nixon, reportedly saying that “Christ didn’t shy away from people in trouble”. Quite a pastor, huh?
