Born Herbert Chambers on November 15, 1940 in Dorchester, Massachusetts, he is known as the owner and CEO of The Herb Chambers Companies in greater Boston, Massachusetts. He was named one of the 400 richest Americans in 2015 by Forbes magazine. He ranked 392 with an estimated net worth of 1.7 billion US dollars at the age of 74.
Herbert Chambers or Herb Chambers did not live a good life when he was young. He dropped out of school in his senior year and had to work at the Stop & Shop supermarket to pay for his rent of 15 dollars a week. He then joined the United States Navy as an aviation electrician in 1959 and worked again after he left the Navy. It was in 1985 when he started the Herb Chambers Companies.
