On average, the food and drink in Turkey is less expensive than that in the United States. An 11 ounce water bottle - the kind sold at the grocery stores - is only $0.80. That’s a full dollar less than what it sells for in the United States. A soft drink of the same size is the same price. Again, it sells for a dollar less than it would in the United States.
While those in America will spend $2 or $3 on a loaf of white bread, that same bread costs only $0.40 in Turkey. Granted, these are all average numbers for the food and drinks in Turkey. It may change some around the country, and depend on what is in stock that day.
