The most popular food in Australia is a dish called pavlova. It’s a dessert dish, with a meringue base. Kind of like a lemon meringue pie. The food bears the name of famous Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova, and was created during or after one of her tours around the Australian continent. Since a lot of the toppings - fresh fruit - are in season during the summer, this is a popular dish around the holidays - Christmas and such.
It has egg whites, castor sugar, fresh fruits, and some kind of an acidic thing in the base. The fruits usually go on top, and can be anything from raspberries to kiwis. Usually, there are two kinds of fruit used as a topping, though sometimes only one will be used.
