Journalists serve society by giving out accurate and reliable facts. Journalist serve society by being transparent and by giving out unbiased opinions about what is happening to the world. Journalists’ loyalty is to the citizens therefore putting the public interest above their own opinions or assumptions. This just means that journalists should not specifically ignore other citizens just because they wanted to.
After all, without citizens patronizing their work, they won’t be able to earn enough money to support themselves. I believe that journalists are doing a good job of serving society today because they have all the means to verify the information whether it is true or not. If, by any chance, they give out an incorrect information, they must immediately rectify it and apologize for the wrong information they had just given.
