They occur like clockwork as observed from some place on the planet. After the eclipse which occurs on August 21, 2017, the subsequent noticeable eclipse will be able to be seen from North America and will happen on April 8, 2024. Eclipses do not happen very often, so when one is happening, it is a very special thing.
Eclispes can be scientifically measured and predicted based on things like the placement of the moon and Earth's orbit around the sun. Make sure that you take some time to watch an eclipse at some point in your life as it is a wondrous sight.
