Anne Bradstreet is known as being one of the first people to come to America. She was a Puritan which was a strict group of people who came to America for religious freedom. They settled in the New England area. One Puritan who became famous for her poetry was Anne Bradstreet. She wrote about many things that would be important to people during that time including medicine, history and politics.

It is amazing that she wrote about such issues due to the strictness and rigidity of this group of people. However, her poems have withstood the test of time. When she wrote “Thou hast an house on high erect,” she refers to God and that heaven awaits those forever as long as you believe in him.
