False.

There are 4 types of spinda bifida 1) occult spinal dysraphism (osd): dimple on the lower back, red marks or tufts of hair or small lumps. Spinal cord may not grow the right way and may cause serious problems as the child grows. 2) Spina bifida occulta: 15% of heathly people can have it and not know it. aka hidden. does not cause harm, has no signs and the spinal cord and nerves are fine. 3) Meningocele: causes part of the spinal cord to come through the spine like a sac that is pushed out. The sac if filled with nerve fluid but no nerve damage. individuals may have minor disabilities. 4) Myelomeningocele: most severe form of spina bifida. Parts of spinal cord and nerves come through the open part of the spine. can cause nerve damage and more major disabilities.
