Microsoft used this tagline in their 2nd global advertising campaign in November 1994. The ad was created and directed by Wieden-Kennedy, an advertising agency that was known for its work on behalf of Nike Inc. The video, showed people using a Microsoft-powered computer that was playing different games, creating documents, and watching videos.
That time, gadgets were limited to do a single job unlike today that you can use your smartphone to browse the Internet, take photos, and connect to someone. So the ad showed that one could get almost anywhere by using a computer powered by Microsoft of course. You could be in gameplay then could do your homework with just taps on the icons.
