Corn is the base of most whiskeys such as moonshine and bourbon. In fact, moonshine is made up of a mash of corn, and bourbon must be made containing at least 51 percent of corn to be compliant with federal law. While moonshine and bourbon are widely known for their make-up largely of corn, many alcohols do have some percentage of corn in them.
While some companies will advertise and brag about their high percentage of corn in their alcohol, others will advertise the fact that they are proud of their low percentage of corn and high usage of grains into their mash.
