Is the information consistent with information from other sources? gather information from various sources, as much as possible then decide. 2) how reliable is the source of the information? who posts it, and why are they posting? 3) was the information obtained through proper scientific procedures? information gained through a controlled experiment is more reliable. 4) were experimental results interpreted correctly? did you interpret the results correctly? or did they? the may not be talking about humans ect. 5) are there other possible explanations for the results? example: people who eat fish live longer; maybe people who eat more fish exercise more. make sure there isnt a third factor they dont know about, that could cause the difference between the two groups.
