The correct answer to this question is highlight the unhealthy conditions under which ordinary soldiers were living. This question is normally found on SAT tests. The person taking the test will be required to read a passage about Florence Nightingale. From there, the SAT normally asks them several questions to test the reading comprehension of the test taker.

Through the passage, the reader sees that the life of Florence Nightingale is less demanding than the life she had in Crimea. Along with that, the demands of Nightingale are also addressed and the ideas around her reputation in the lives she has lived

Highlight the unhealthy conditions under which ordinary soldiers were living -ms. nightingale was not quoting actual figures (eliminate e). she was also not concerned about conditions in hospitals in general (eliminate a) - she was concerned with military hospitals, and the conditions in the army in general. the last line tells us that her main concern was the health of the army. so her main point is that ordinary solders were living in unsanitary conditions, and answer b is best. she is not ridiculing the dangers she is pointing them out (eliminate d). she is not proving anything (eliminate c).
