Rapunzel let down her hair in Rapunzel. It is a known fact that Rapunzel is a fairy tale popularized by the Brothers Grimm, but some people don’t really know the brothers behind such work of art. Jacob Ludwig Carl Grimm or Jacob Grimm was born on January 04, 1785 while Wilhelm Carl Grimm or Wilhelm Grimm was born on February 24, 1786. Aside from Rapunzel, they also popularized Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, The Frog Prince, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.
Rapunzel was first published in 1812 as part of the Children’s and Household Tales. In this story, Rapunzel was locked up inside a tower with no stairs or doors and only a room and one window by the evil witch Dame Gothel. Whenever Dame Gothel visits Rapunzel, she always says: “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may climb thy golden stair.”
