Henri-Robert-Marcel Duchamp, better known as Marcel Duchamp, was a French-American painter known for his use of Cubism, conceptual art, and Dada. Duchamp was also a sculptor, chess player and a writer, but his paintings and sculptures are what helped him stand out, making him considered to be one of the three artists who helped revolutionize art along with Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.

Marcel Duchamp rejected many famous artists work because he said their art was “retinal”, meaning the art was created just to please the viewers eye, whereas Marcel Duchamp wanted to use his art to please the mid of the viewer.
