Most insects have three parts to their overall anatomy. As a matter of fact, the term “insect” means “cut into sections.” The sections are thorax, head and abdomen. The thorax is usually found on an insect. It is the center section of the bug and it contains the legs and wings. The legs usually consist of three pairs of them in different sections of the insect.

In regard to the wings, insects usually have a pair or two pairs of wings. However, some insects don’t have wings at all. The abdomen has over ten parts to it and contains some of the insect’s major body systems like digestion. The head has the antennae, eyes and parts of the mouth. Sometimes, an insects head may rotate.
