The Tyrannosaurus Rex was one of the fiercest dinosaurs to ever live. It fed on small and large animals and was a carnivore (ate only meat). It is believed that a T-Rex could eat as much as 500 pounds of meat in one bite! In recent years, a group of scientists believe that they have found evidence showing that the T-Rex was primarily a scavenger.
It had the ability to hunt when needed, but it would likely eat the dead animals it found in its path along the way. There is no definitive evidence to support either school of thought. However, we do know that it was a carnivore because of its razor sharp rows of teeth (similar to a shark). Some T-Rex dung has even been discovered with animal bones in it, which tells us that they ate the animal whole at times.
