The Golden-Crowned Kinglet is known for its white ring around its eye, with a dark bar through the center. They are a very small songbird.
The Golden-crowned Kinglet is a well-known bird through the United States and most of Canada. During the winter months, they migrate south to Texas, Mexico, and South Florida. These birds migrate in large groups and return in the spring to the same place they left from. They will spend their lives in those two locations (their winter home and their summer home).
They are easily recognizable in the wild. Adults are an olive grey color with white feathers under their wings. They have bright yellow patches on their chest. They also have a white ring around their eye with a black bar through the white ring.
