The correct answer is a semicolon; it is used in separating significant elements of a sentence. In the English language, a semicolon is used to link two independent clauses that are closely related. It can also be used in place of commas to separate items.

The first printed semicolon was the work of an Italian printer, Aldus Manutius, in 1494. He established the practice of using a semicolon to separate words of proposed meaning and also to allow a rapid change in the direction of connecting interdependent statements.

Lastly, the semicolon is used as part of emotions in order to indicate winking or crying, and also, it is the least understood punctuation mark; therefore, it is not used by many English speakers.

The correct answer to this question is B, ; (semi-colon). It separates significant elements of a sentence. It is usually used in place of a comma to separate a list. A semi-colon was first printed in 1494 by Aldus Manutius, which was an Italian painter. The first writer noted that using a semicolon was Ben Johnson.

In modern times, semi-colons are used in the listing of items or linkings of clauses. Commas usually come after a lower case letter, instead of in the case of the use of the noun I. Grammar rules recommend that no space be used before or after the punctuation.
