There are five main themes in geography. They are location, place, human-environment interaction, movement and region. Location can consist of an absolute or relative locations. An absolute location is one in which the precise location is given usually by coordinates. The relative location is simply a description of where something is located.
Places are areas that can be located based on the explanations that are given about those areas. For example, New York City may be described based on the number of people living there. Movement is the transport of goods or people to other places. Human-environment interaction is the ways in which the people connect or even damage the environment in an area. A region is an area that have something in common within the area.
