General cartography which involves the map that is created for the general audience. They are produced in series and also contain a variety of characteristics and thematic. Cartography involves maps with specific geographical themes.

A special-purpose type of map is formed by the combination of general cartography elements and thematic cartography. Topographic maps are majorly concerned with the topographic description, and topological map is a map that is sketched on a napkin. Modern cartography has many theoretical and practical foundations of geographic information systems.
