The Great Pyramid of Giza is located in Egypt. This is actually the oldest of the pyramids in the area, and was built sometime around the fourth dynasty of Egypt, but no one is exactly sure when that occurred. Standing tall at 481 feet tall, it was the tallest man made structure for thousands of years. Out of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, this is the only one to remain largely intact after everything else has fallen.
The pyramid we see today is the underlying stone. There had been a stone case that was meant to protect the pyramid, but it has since weathered away or been turn down. The core pyramid is now visible to the public and vulnerable to the weather and erosion.
