NAFTA has created the second largest free trade zone in the world. NAFTA is an acronym for “North American Free Trade Agreement”. It is a trade agreement between Canada, the United States of America, and Mexico. It was originally signed in 1989, with Canada and the United States of America agreeing to free trade. In 1991, the two countries began to talk with Mexico about entering the agreement.
Mexico signed on in 1994. The NAFTA has continued to provide free trade between the three countries since then.In May of 2017, the United States began to open talks about supporting higher paying jobs in the United States by reorganizing NAFTA. There has been no official revisement to the trade agreement as of so far, but it is very possible.
