The ocean closest to Bolivia is the Pacific Ocean. Despite being a landlocked country, Bolivia still maintains a navy. This is an interesting tidbit for those who don’t know the history, and how Bolivia became a landlocked nation. Chile took Bolivia’s coastline in the War of the Pacific - which raged between the years of 1879 and 1904. Until then, the northernmost tip of Chile had been part of Bolivia.
Despite this, Bolivia still claims to own a corridor that leads out to the Pacific Ocean. This would mean they still have access to the ocean, and therefore a reason to maintain their navy despite having no coastline access to the ocean. This makes Bolivia hard to invade by water, but easy to invade by land now.
