Anglican Church is another name for the Church of England. The Church of England is separated from the Roman Catholic Church mainly not only because they base their faith on the Bible, apostolic succession, the apostolic Church traditions and the writings of the Fathers of the Church or the Christian theologians in the early days, but also because King Henry VIII wanted to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon so he could finally marry Anne Boleyn.
In 1536, he finally took the position of the Supreme Head of the Church of England so he could marry Anne, thus finally separating the church from Rome. As you may all know, Queen Elizabeth II is holding the position of the Supreme Governor of the Church of England since 1952.
