Urban climate is the heat of a city which shows significant climate differences than surrounding areas. According the Britannica Encyclopedia, urban climate is “any set of climatic conditions that prevails in a large metropolitan area and differs from the climate of its rural surroundings”. This means that climates in urban areas differ in terms of humidity, amount of precipitation, temperature, wind speed and the direction of the wind which is lower than the winds across urban areas.
There are many other characteristics which differentiate urban climate with the climate in rural areas, but rural areas’ atmosphere is believed to contain a higher concentration of pollutant, hydrocarbons, oxides of sulfur and nitrogen, oxidant and particular matter.
